Tips For Industrial Corrosive Fluids Handling

If your business deals with industrial corrosive fluids handling, it is time to contact specialists in the field of fluids handling. Many plumbers and technicians can effectively put together the fluid handling solution for water and other non-hazardous liquids. However, when it comes to dangerous chemicals, it pays to bring in professionals who are trained to work with industrial piping systems. Quality and safety hang in the balance when you work with industrial corrosive fluids handling, therefore professional expertise and top notch systems and parts are essential.

What A Professional Can Do

A professional in industrial corrosive fluids handling can design the optimal solution to transport fluid in your business. He or she can advise you on the right type of piping systems to use in order to provide the best protection possible. Engineers can determine the adequate size needed to handle your firm’s needs. They can set up and test the piping systems designed to handle corrosive fluids, so that you are confident in the safety and security of the systems in your business.

Your industrial corrosive fluids handling system usually requires special training for the maintenance staff to be able to safely handle any repair needs. Often time a professional is needed to provide expert advice.  An expert can effectively and quickly repair the pumps, piping, valves and gaskets that make up your system to ensure that you experience minimal downtime. If replacement of your line or a portion of it is necessary, a professional is often able to run a parallel system while making the transition, so you are not losing valuable production time.

The Right Parts To Do The Job Right

For industrial corrosive fluids handling, specialized piping is necessary. Dual contained piping systems are critical to the safe handling of many such fluids. With the dual contained piping system, there is essentially a pipe within a pipe. The space between is monitored in order to detect leakage as soon as it occurs and long before they become a hazard to people or the environment. It increases safety and protection and gives peace of mind to those dealing with such substances.

Process piping systems that are designed to handle the fluids you deal with are also an integral part of safely handling those substances. Made from a variety of materials, they have in-line components that control and monitor temperature, flowrate and pressure of the fluids flowing through them.

What Happens When Industrial Corrosive Fluids Handling Is Not Taken Care Of

When industrial corrosive fluids handling is not taken care of professionally and effectively, it is a disaster waiting to happen. The wrong piping systems, or ineffective monitoring, can mean that leaks occur putting the site, the environment and, most importantly, people at risk. Serious injury and even death may occur when individuals are exposed to corrosive fluids.

One industrial accident involving corrosive fluids can easily be the downfall of a company. If negligence is found to be the cause of such an accident; lawsuits, fines and repairs can easily wipe out the most solvent of companies. Prevent industrial corrosive fluids disasters by taking the right preventative steps now.

Finding The Right Pipe and Pump Supplies

Choosing the right pipe and pump supplies is critical to the success of any fluid handling job you undertake. The right equipment for industrial needs is not the same as an irrigation system for a backyard. Commercial fountains have different requirements than residential pondless water features. Sports facilities require completely different irrigation systems than farms. Industrial pump and pipe needs vary tremendously from company to company. Knowing what you need it complex.

Using Experts To Make The Right Choice

Because of the endless things to consider when dealing with pipes and pump supplies, it makes sense to consult an expert. In fact most companies which specialize in fluid handling will have trained sales consultants who can help you find the exact supplies you need to get the job done. Make sure that the specialist you are dealing with knows truly knows your pump and pipe supply sector.

As with many industries, technology is constantly changing when it comes to fluid handling. Few of us have the time or interest to keep on top of such changes. However, specialists in the field make it their business to do so. Therefore they can provide you with the latest in innovations to solve your fluid handling challenges. You don’t want to choose a technology that will be obsolete in just a few years. Experts can help you avoid that.

Choosing The Right Provider of Pipe and Pump Supplies

Finding the right supplier of the parts you need for your fluid handling projects is also an important aspect of finding the right pipe and pump supplies. A good company specializing in fluid handling will be able to answer your questions and offer you solutions and advice. If the company you are dealing with cannot do this, you need to find a new company.

If you have industrial pipe and pump supply needs, you may need process piping to prevent contamination or a dual contained piping system to protect from hazardous fluids. You may need a specific type of control system, filtration products or other specialty product. Not every pipe and pump supply company will be able to meet your needs or provide the expertise you are looking for.

While some fluid handling companies handle a diverse range of needs, including irrigation, fountain, industrial, municipal and outdoor living needs, other companies do not. Be sure that the provider you are looking for is specialized in the services and products you need help with and is in tune with the climatic needs of your area.

Finding the right pipe and pump supplies to meet your needs is a matter of finding the right provider
who happens to have the experts you need to confer with on staff. Take the time to explore the different pipe and pump suppliers who specialize in the field you are working in before you make your purchase and get the best, most reliable results possible.

Advice From Terry Brady On Fluid Handling and Outdoor Living

Terry Brady, Executive Vice President of W.P. Law, Inc. is a go-to guy for anyone looking for information on fluid handling. He finished his Agricultural Engineering degree one year after joining the company where he still works today, and worked his way to the top. As he left Clemson University, little did he know that he would go on to become one of the fluid handling industry’s foremost experts.

Irrigation Systems

Terry will be the first to tell you that irrigation is multi-faceted and requires expert knowledge. Whether your irrigation system is one for your home, commercial property or a sports facility, consulting an irrigation specialist will help you design the ideal system, troubleshoot your existing one, help you find the right contractor to do the work or give you the necessary guidelines for installation.

Fountains
No matter what your fountain project, whether it is a pondless water feature, a residential water garden or a commercial or municipal fountain, the right pumps, pipes and up-to-date technology will help you achieve the desired results. Having a proper design and using quality components makes all the difference when it comes to fountains. Because most fountains run 18 to 20 hours per day their components must tolerate a lot of wear and tear. Choosing high quality supplies will mean years of trouble-free enjoyment of your fountain.

Outdoor Living
Creating a unique outdoor living space can increase the value of your home and add a special element to the outdoor space you enjoy. Being outside is fun and relaxing and something most people enjoy fully. Take the time to create a special outdoor living space that suits your lifestyle and tastes.

If you are looking to create a relaxing oasis in which to unwind and relax, surrounded by the sound of gently running water, you can create it quickly with the addition of a water feature and some landscape lighting.

If your favorite thing to do outside is entertain, an outdoor kitchen is just the thing. You will also need to decide if your cooking element is going to be something high tech like a gourmet grill, built-in outdoor cooking spaces or if you are going to opt instead for fire pits for charcoal cooking and campfires.

Depending on the climate in your area and the seasons you plan to use your outdoor living space, you will also need to look into patio heaters to keep your space comfortable for family and friends. Additional landscape lighting for ambiance, safety and utility are also recommended.

His many years in the business of providing fluid handling and outdoor living solutions has made Terry L. Brady a resource that many people turn to. For anyone looking to do irrigation work, fountains, outdoor living and industrial or municipal fluid handling, Terry and his team can answer questions and make recommendations from their extensive experience.

Why You Need Professional Fountain Maintenance & Repair Services

If you have a fountain, maintenance and repairs are a major concern. Using only professional grade parts can make a huge difference in the life of your fountain. Having a professional fountain maintenance repair specialist handle the upkeep of your fountain will also ensure your fountain’s best performance and help it last as long as possible.

Advantages of Using Professional Fountain Maintenance Repair Services

Fountain maintenance and repair can be tricky. Anytime you mix moving parts and water, there are bound to be complications. There are numerous advantages to having professional care for your fountain.

You may be looking at your fountain and thinking that it is beyond repair, but a professional will likely find the solutions that will keep your fountain running for a long time to come. They will also be able to advise you on ways to update your fountain by replacing the pump, upgrading the filtration or adding underwater lighting. This can transform your tired looking fountain into a modern centerpiece.

Skilled fountain maintenance repair professionals can offer you advice on the best way to maintain the fountain between service calls and how to avoid problems. Many of the most common issues with fountains are related to water quality and can be prevented by using proper filtration and regular cleaning.

Fountain professionals are also a source of quality parts from some of the top manufacturers.
Cheap, poor quality parts found in many “big box” stores are not commercial grade.  These inferior parts have a shorter life and end up costing more in the long run because they need to be replaced more often.

The specialized knowledge of a trained fountain professional delivers reliable results. Do-it-yourself jobs are rarely reliable. When it comes to systems you are completely unfamiliar with, the technical know-how of a professional can make a world of difference. Once completed you won’t be wondering how long the repair will last. You will find that you are confident in the results delivered.

While professional repairs are always more costly than those you do yourself, in the long run you are likely saving yourself money. Poorly done do-it-yourself jobs are often patchwork and it is just a matter of time before it needs to be done again and properly. Sometimes do-it-yourself repairs put additional stress on other parts of your system leading them to break more quickly.

Professional fountain maintenance services can help ensure that your fountain is looking its best.  Regularly scheduled visits to clean, inspect and adjust components can not only save you from the inconvenience of a breakdown, but can also prevent more costly repairs in the future.

Invest in a professional fountain maintenance and repair company to keep you fountain looking and performing at its best.

Essential Tips for Pond Fertilization

Pond fertilization is an excellent tool in pond management. It allows you to improve the water quality greatly. You can even increase fish production in your pond by as much as 300%, because of the increased phytoplankton that results from pond fertilization. Organisms feed on phytoplankton and they flourish in darker waters which result from the fertilization. There is also less algae and fewer submersed aquatic weeds following fertilization. Therefore you should take the time to learn about the details of pond fertilization.

Know Which Types of Ponds To Fertilize

It is incredibly important to only fertilize ponds that are good candidates for pond fertilization because it is not beneficial for every pond. If the water is not hard enough or the soil pH is low, the pond should not be fertilized. You can adjust the pH of the water by applying lime but must wait 4-6 weeks following application before you can attempt pond fertilization.

If a pond has aquatic weed growth, avoid fertilization. Such growth must be controlled prior to pond fertilization. Black water ponds or muddy ponds are also not good candidates for pond fertilization. If the pond gets runoff from animal manure or organic fertilizer, it does not need pond fertilization.

Choosing The Right Fertilizer

When you are selecting fertilizer for your pond, be sure to get one that is highly water soluble. If it sinks to the bottom of the pond, you will find that it binds to the soil there and will not fertilize the water. Highly soluble pond fertilizers come in powder, granular and liquid forms. Be sure that the fertilizer has phosphorus, very little nitrogen and no potassium.

Getting Started With Pond Fertilization

You should do your initial pond fertilization when the water temperature is around 60°F. This is typically around March or April, depending on where you live. You may only need 1 treatment per year, however 3 times a year is the average. Give the pond 2 weeks to adjust following the initial application before deciding if you need further applications. To help you decide when your pond no longer needs additional fertilization, the guideline is to stop when you can no longer see an object that is 18” below the water surface.

If you are using liquid fertilizer you will need to mix it with 10 parts water to 1 part fertilizer before distributing it before across the pond. Powder or granular fertilizers should be dissolved in water and the same ratio used prior to application.

Make sure you do not fertilize your pond if the temperature of the water is lower than 60°F. Typically this is in September or October. Pond fertilization when water is too cold is ineffective and may cause algae issues that become apparent when the water warms up again.

Be sure to purchase a quality pond fertilization product and seek professional help if you have questions about the process. Pond fertilization is an important aspect of caring for and maintaining a healthy pond.

The Allure of Water Gardens and Waterfalls

Water gardens and waterfalls are a beautiful addition to any landscape. They add a touch of peacefulness to your surroundings and help to create an area of true relaxation that blends seamlessly with nature. Creating and maintaining a water area is an enjoyable hobby and a joy to behold. However, the initial setting up of water gardens and waterfalls is more involved than it looks.

You can achieve the water garden or waterfall oasis that you are striving for if you successfully bring together a healthy flow of water, aquatic plants, fish and good bacteria. In addition you will need to make sure there are adequate biological and mechanical filters, as well as quality plumbing and pumps. If all these things work together correctly you will find that the system is balanced and your oasis is perfect. Little maintenance is required once you have achieved balance.

The Right Equipment For Water Gardens and Waterfalls

When considering adding water gardens or waterfalls to your grounds, be sure you purchase only quality products. You will need reliable pumps, filters, piping, jets, nozzles, liners and more to ensure continued flow of water in your creation. By opting for products that are not up to the task, you will experience frequent breakdowns, an unbalanced ecosystem, and need to replace the parts and equipment more often than you should. By investing in more reliable equipment, your water gardens and waterfalls will flow continually and you will have minimal maintenance to do.

Upkeep of Water Gardens and Waterfalls

Once you create your little oasis and it is in perfect balance, there will still be some required maintenance to do. Depending on the climate where you live you may have more maintenance or less. For those in a warm climate, water gardens and waterfalls may be enjoyed year-round. The upkeep of the water feature is limited to monitoring water levels, controlling algae, and cleaning debris from filters. Mostly you will do little more than add good bacteria and clean the skimmer net every week or so.

If you live in a colder climate you will need to do more to maintain your water garden or waterfall. You will first have to decide if you plan to leave it running during the winter months or if you will stop the pump and have it freeze. If there are fish you will need to remove them or have a heater to keep them alive. If you allow your water area to freeze, you will have to rebalance the system again when you start it back up. In the spring you will need to clean all the filters in your system and then drain all the water and refill it with fresh water.

Consult a professional before embarking on your water garden or waterfall project
. You will get the information you need to make sure that you have an ecologically balanced system with the correct equipment and components to make sure your flowing water system is healthy and attractive, so you get to enjoy the tranquility of flowing water in your surroundings.

The Basics of Irrigation Troubleshooting

Irrigation systems are tricky to maintain and anyone with one is sure to need irrigation troubleshooting help from time to time. There are so many things that can go wrong, such as your system inadequately covering the area it is supposed to, leaving brown patches; uneven water flow; systems that refuse to shut off; or portions that refuse to work. Rest assured that any mechanical system dealing with water is bound to have some issues. However knowing a little about irrigation troubleshooting will help you avoid and deal with such issues.

Regular maintenance and upgrading your irrigation system when necessary are key components when it comes to irrigation troubleshooting. In fact, you will face significantly fewer problems that require troubleshooting if you do such things.

Regular Maintenance Reduces The Need For Irrigation Troubleshooting

Preventative maintenance is essential to irrigation troubleshooting.

•   Do regular check-ups on various parts of your system. Schedule a monthly inspection of all parts, including scanning for leaks, sprinkler heads that are clogged or broken and other problems with the system.
•   Regular cleaning of nozzle screens and micro-irrigation filters should be done on a regular basis to prevent clogging.
•   Check water pressure regularly as it can cause efficiency issues if it fluctuates.
•   Make sure your sprinkler heads are adjusted correctly so that they adequately water the areas that are needed.
•   Bring in an irrigation specialist to ensure that your system is ready for winter. They have equipment to properly drain and “blow out” your system, so lingering water doesn’t freeze and damage different aspects of your irrigation system. Winterizing is essential if you live in a cold climate.

Upgrades Minimize the Need For Irrigation Troubleshooting

Consider changes to your system. If you find that your irrigation system is over-watering, especially when there has been rain, you may want to get the technology to detect such issues. Rain shutoff switches are inexpensive and are easy to attach to most irrigation systems. This will save you from an inflated water bill and excess watering problems. Another water-saving investment you may want to make is in smart technology which includes sensors which check weather and soil moisture conditions. Automatic changes to the irrigation schedule of your system are made depending on the readings of such sensors.

There is some new technology worth considering also. If you opt for water-efficient products when you upgrade your system, your water utility may give you rebates. Check it out before making your purchase. Look into low volume, micro-irrigation options for landscaping irrigation. Significantly less water is used with micro spray jets, drip irrigation, bubbler irrigation and micro-sprinklers, helping you save water and reducing runoff.

It is extremely valuable to know when to call an irrigation specialist.
Such individuals have the specialized knowledge and expertise to effectively deal with serious irrigation problems. If a review of your system reveals nothing that you can deal with, call in a specialist to take care of the job. You should also have your system audited by such a specialist in order to ensure that it is running optimally and your areas are getting the necessary irrigation.
